Sealion AIR

Installed as the interior air sealant, SealionTM AIR forms a lasting, weatherproof seal that blocks moist outside air from entering while keeping conditioned indoor air securely inside around windows and door assemblies.

Advantages

  • Single-component (Silyl-Terminated-Polymer) Easy to gun, spread-and-tool in all weather conditions. Saves time and requires no mixing.
  • Cures quickly.
  • No priming needed. Bonds to most common building materials
  • No mold growth. No shrinkage. No staining. Non-yellowing.
  • VOC maximum 30 g/L.

Limitations

  • Not for gaps >2” wide
  • Not for underwater application
  • Not for usage in contact with acids or solvents

Cured Properties

  • Tensile strenght 150-200 psi
  • Elongation at break >800%
  • Peel strenght 25 pli
  • Flash point >200 F
  • Temperature required 32 F -- 110 F

Preparation

Apply to clean surfaces free of contaminants.

  • Presure treated or re rated wood. Clean with alcohol wipes before applying SealionTM AIR

Joints Preparation:

  • <1/2” wide joints -- sealant depth equal to joint width
  • 1/2” to 1” wide joints -- sealant depth equals 1/2 of joint width
  • >1” wide joints -- install closed cell backer rod 25% greater than the joint width. Install bond breaker tape where joint depth does not permit use of backer rod.

Application

  • Use as packaged. Do not dilute or alter.
  • Using a professional grade caulking gun, install sealant in a continuous bead without gaps or air pocket
  • Apply the sealant immediately, ensuring complete coverage of the joint bond surface and forming a smooth, concave prole level with adjacent edges. When horizontal and vertical surfaces meet, shape the sealant into a slight cove to prevent moisture or debris buildup. Do not use water, soapy water, or solvents during the tooling process, and avoid over-tooling.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place with the container tightly sealed. Open cartridges or sausages only after prep work is nished. Do not mix or alter with other chemicals.

When stored at or below 80°F (27°C), Sealion AIR is best used within 12 months of manufacture, assuming upright storage in sealed containers. Avoid double-stacking pallets. Keep out of reach of children and dispose of according to local, state, and national regulations.
